Have you ever found yourself daydreaming of the chocolate factory from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? What if you could visit the place and discover the marvels and oddities that are concealed inside? Well, we were curious so we conducted a math experiment how much it would cost to fulfill this ambition. Here is a breakdown of every aspect of Dahl’s tale, which was then utilized to determine how much it would cost to bring his world of pure imagination to reality.

The Chocolate Factory is unrecognizable without the chocolate river. Wonka would need 150,000 gallons of chocolate, which would cost him $32.6 million, to finance this project. And let’s not forget about the Oompa Loompas. Fortunately, Wonka provides for his loyal staff very well, spending around $8 million year on their healthcare and about $73 million annually on their pay, which total roughly $50,000 on average. Additionally, we calculate that it would cost Mr. Wonka roughly $25,000 each time to treat the Oompa Loompas to Taco Tuesday to boost morale (hey, those guys work hard!).

After adding up all of these expenses, Wonka will need to spend more than $224 million annually to operate the facility. Undoubtedly, there are some ways to reduce expenses, but what fun would that be? Continue reading the infographic below for the rest of the calculations!
